Recently, Charles Xu, Counsel of D’Andrea & Partners Legal Counsel, was invited as a speaker to two events organised by the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China (EUCCC), sharing professional insights on AI-driven human resources management and relevant legal compliance.
On 27th May, the 2026 Human Resources Hot-spot Forum (Dalian Stop) was successfully held. Co-organised by Generali China Liaoning Branch, European Chamber Shenyang Chapter and AmCham China Northeast China Chapter, the event gathered over 60 corporate representatives and HR practitioners to discuss industry frontiers and compliance practices, and explore high-quality development pathways for human resources management. Aligned with the national talent development strategy for the 15th Five-Year Plan, the forum focused on three core themes: corporate employee benefit insurance, legal compliance for AI-driven HR management, and full-cycle non-compete management. Ms Xiao Bingjie, General Manager of Generali China Liaoning Branch, and Ms Wang Yuhua, Deputy General Manager of the Group Insurance Department, delivered presentations on industry trends and practical solutions for employee benefit insurance and corporate health management.
During the forum, Charles Xu delivered a speech titled The Wave of AI+HR and Legal Challenges: Reconstructing HR Compliance from the Disputes of AI Replacement. Drawing on judicial practices and compliance rules, he analysed legal risks arising from the wide adoption of AI in recruitment, performance appraisal, job allocation and other HR scenarios. He offered practical compliance advice on data security, employee privacy protection, labour relationship confirmation, algorithm accountability and disputes over AI replacement, helping enterprises mitigate risks in digital employment and optimise HR compliance systems. In the closing remarks, Ms Fiona Yu, General Manager of the European Chamber Shenyang Chapter, summarised the forum outcomes and stated that the Chamber will keep building platforms for Sino-European trade and talent exchanges to elevate HR management standards across Northeast China.
On 11th June, Charles Xu attended another EUCCC event in Nanjing as a speaker. The event themed Challenges and the Misalignment Dilemma Between Corporate Efficiency and Profitability amid the Intelligent Wave. Continuing his sharing on AI+HR compliance, he illustrated emerging HR and legal challenges brought by intelligent transformation, and analysed the dilemmas and legal issues faced by companies when balancing operational efficiency and profitability, delivering valuable professional guidance to participating enterprises.
Though held in different cities, the two events both centred on compliance challenges amid AI transformation in the HR sector.
