How to get to Italy without taking a plane?

Shanghai got this opportunity since 2016 with the first edition of IDI and the Italian Design Icons (IDI) Exhibition 2017 is ready to bring you to Italy without taking a plane.

The event press conference was held last March 3, at PAPER, the luxury sharing office located in downtown Shanghai. With great delight, we invited some of our premium exhibitors from IDI 2016, including iGuzzini – the service of architecture and light culture, Smeg EuroIdea – the Made in Italy kitchen appliances – and PepsiCo – to present their products at the scene. Gianmauro Vella – the Italian Head of Design of PepsiCo Greater China – gave a speech about the unique and creative concept behind the Pepsi cans designed for IDI 2016, which recently won the Global Design Award.

The press conference was organized by the Consulate General of Italy and the Italian Cultural Institute in Shanghai and co-organized by D’Andrea & Partners. The event opened to both the press and the public, started with a brilliant opening speech by Mr. Stefano Beltrame, the Consul General of Italy in Shanghai, expressing his excitement about Italian design which, in the last few years, took a big step towards the Chinese customers.

As the organizer, we have chosen the topic “TRAVEL – JOURNEY” as a main theme for the IDI 2017 edition, in order to celebrate 2018 that will be the year of Italy-China tourism relationships.

A unique two-day exposition of the most Iconic Italian Design products will open its doors in November in Shanghai at the Condé Nast Center of Fashion and Design. Top speakers, CEOs, designers, creative directors will give valuable and informative lectures and will share interesting stories about their Journey into Italian design.
