The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has extended the transition period for certain revised IS 10322 Series:2026 standards applicable to LED luminaires under the Compulsory Registration Scheme (CRS).
The earlier deadline of 2 August 2026 has been extended to 2 February 2027, giving manufacturers and BIS registration holders an additional six months to complete testing and transition to the revised standards.
The extension covers, among others, fixed general-purpose luminaires, fancy lights, recessed luminaires, road and street lighting, LED floodlights, handlamps, lighting chains and emergency lighting luminaires.
Companies dealing in affected LED lighting products should review their existing BIS CRS registrations, assess compliance with the revised 2026 standards, and complete the necessary testing and transition before 2 February 2027.
