Event Recap | From Italy to Shenzhen: A Closed-Door Seminar on Investing and Doing Business in China

On 26 October 2026, DP Group hosted a closed-door seminar at the Shenzhen Global Service Center for a delegation of over thirty Italian entrepreneurs. The participants mainly represented small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) operating across a range of sectors, including mechanical manufacturing, leisure and cultural tourism, hospitality, and catering.

Themed “Investment Opportunities in China: Market Entry, Partnerships and Key Legal, Tax and Financial Considerations,” the seminar was conducted in Italian, with the aim of helping Italian businesses better understand the key issues involved in entering and operating in the Chinese market.

Legal Perspective: Market Entry and Operational Risks

Ms. Jun Jie (Ginevra) Yang, Associate at D’Andrea & Partners Legal Counsel, focused on the main market entry options and key legal issues that foreign investors should consider, including corporate governance, relationships with local partners, intellectual property protection, employment, data protection, and the principal legal and operational risks of doing business in China. Drawing on practical experience, she outlined the legal milestones that companies should pay attention to throughout the process—from market assessment to actual operations.

Tax and Financial Perspective: Tax and Financial Arrangements

Mr. Gianluca Bonissoni, General Manager of PHC Advisory, complemented the legal overview by addressing the relevant tax and financial aspects, helping participants more comprehensively assess the feasibility and cost structure of entering the Chinese market.

Dialogue and Connection

The seminar included a direct dialogue and discussion session, during which participating entrepreneurs raised specific questions related to their own industries and business scenarios. The event concluded with a networking session, offering attendees the opportunity to connect with the speakers and with one another.
