D’Andrea & Partners at the 4th Sino-Italian Judicial Forum

On November 29, 2025, the 4th Sino-Italian Judicial Forum themed “Five Years Since the Enactment of the Civil Code: Comparative Perspectives and Local Experiences” was successfully held at Tongji University in Shanghai. Hosted by the Law School of Tongji University, the forum gathered over 100 scholars from universities, judicial practitioners and young talents from China and Italy to conduct in-depth discussions on the theoretical development and practical application of the Civil Code since its implementation. Three lawyers from our firm, Aris Xie, Landon He and Jun Jie (Ginevra) Yang, were invited to attend the forum and actively participate in various academic and practical exchange activities.

During the forum, Lawyer Yang Junjie, as an Italian practicing lawyer, delivered a keynote speech entitled “Personal Data Protection: A Comparison between the Chinese Civil Code and the Italian Civil Code”. Based on a comparative law perspective, the speech in-depth analyzed the legislative frameworks, core rules and practical differences of the civil codes of China and Italy in the field of personal data protection, focused on key issues such as rights protection and liability determination in cross-border data flow, and put forward practical and forward-looking legal suggestions, which received widespread attention and recognition from the attending guests.

Our firm participated in various discussion sessions, focusing on topics such as the basics of private law, comparative private law research, and emerging legal hot topics. We had in-depth exchanges of views and shared practical experience with legal experts and peers from China and Italy, contributing professional insights to cross-border legal dispute resolution, foreign-related rule of law construction, and other issues.

The Sino-Italian Judicial Forum this time has successfully constructed a vital bridge for exchanges and interactions between the legal and practical circles of the two countries. As an international law firm originating from Italy, our firm fully demonstrated its profound professional expertise and outstanding capabilities in areas such as foreign-related legal practice and cross-border dispute resolution during the forum. Moreover, our firm actively played a connecting role, significantly facilitating the exchange and mutual learning of experiences between China and Italy in emerging legal fields, as well as promoting the alignment and integration of rules.

Looking ahead, our firm will, as always, enthusiastically participate in international legal academic exchange activities and delve deeply into the field of foreign-related legal services. We are committed to providing higher-quality and more efficient cross-border legal services and support for both Chinese and foreign clients.
