D’Andrea & Partners Successfully Collaborated on the Moot Shanghai 2026

In March 2026, the 16th Moot Shanghai International Invitational Commercial Arbitration Moot successfully concluded. As a globally recognized pre-moot for the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot (Vis Moot), this year’s competition brought together 24 elite university teams from various countries and regions, including China, Singapore, Brazil, Russia, Mexico, and Switzerland.

As an international law firm with deep-rooted Italian heritage and a strong focus on cross-border practice, D’Andrea & Partners Legal Counsel is dedicated to upholding and promoting the profound traditions of Italian arbitration. As a long-standing partner of the event, D’Andrea & Partners engaged deeply once again this year, aiming not only to foster legal and cultural exchange through this international platform but also to leverage our extensive cross-jurisdictional expertise to bridge the gap between theory and practice for the next generation of legal professionals.

In this competition, Equity Partner Mr. Matteo Zhi, Partner Mr. Aris Xie, Consultant Mr. Charles Xu, Senior Lawyer Mr. Landon He, Lawyer Ms. Junjie Yang, and Lawyer Ms. Jasmine Shi were invited to serve as arbitrators. They provided in-depth guidance to the participants across multiple dimensions, including legal logic, advocacy skills, mastery of case details, and on-site responsiveness, helping students enhance their professional capabilities through simulated practice.

The closing ceremony was successfully held. Mr. Carlo D’Andrea, Founding and Managing Partner of D’Andrea & Partners Legal Counsel, Vice President of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China (EUCCC) and Chairman of its Shanghai Chapter, was invited to attend as an award-presenting guest and presented honors to the winning teams. His attendance not only demonstrates the firm’s great importance attached to international legal exchanges and the cultivation of young legal professionals, but also highlights the firm’s extensive influence in the cross-border legal services sector.

During the closing ceremony of the competition, Mr. Carlo D’Andrea and Lawyer Aris Xie held a cordial meeting and exchange with Dr. Fan Mingchao, Executive Deputy Director of the Shanghai Arbitration Commission.

For years, D’Andrea & Partners has remained steadfast in supporting the growth of “new forces” in the legal community, striving to nurture future pillars with a global perspective. Looking ahead, we will continue to leverage our global service network, particularly our specialized experience in Italian and European arbitration practice, to provide young legal scholars with more opportunities to engage with real-world cross-border cases. We remain committed to empowering young talents, helping them sharpen their legal reasoning within complex cross-jurisdictional environments, and contributing to the development of a more professional and efficient international commercial arbitration ecosystem.
