Corporate Social Responsibility

Education
All students are like seeds, if nourished and educated, they will grow into fruitful trees that can bear the fruits of knowledge and wisdom for generations to come.
In order to help create the leaders of tomorrow, we collaborate with educational institutions at every level, including junior, middle and high schools as well as universities.
For junior and middle school students, we have established a partnership with Gianni Rodari Middle School in Cappelle sul Tavo, Teramo University.
We provide scholarship opportunities to the winners of the competition, “The Italy That I Wish For” which is a theme for the students of the last year of junior school to draft an essay in order to express their vision of how Italy can and should be. The two competition winners shall receive a scholarship to purchase books for their first year of high school.
Our firm has concluded important agreements with educational institutions over the years, including the Italian Università di Teramo, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Nanjing University, and Sichuan International Studies University – Department of Italian Language and Nanjing Normal University – Department of Italian Language connecting Chinese students with Italian companies’ community and helping them find internship and working opportunities.

Environment
In keeping with the goals of the E.U. and China for reduced carbon emissions, as the E.U. aims to achieve peak carbonization by 2025 and carbon neutrality by 2050, while China aims for peak carbonization by 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2060, our goal is to work as a prime example in reducing our own carbon footprint.
Our long-term environmental goal is to reduce our company’s carbon footprint to 0, while Our short-term environmental goal is to contribute through our day-to-day actions to reduce environmental problems such as air, water and soil pollution. We believe that we are on the course for our goal. We plant trees to offset our carbon emissions and we join the Action For Blue to support the cleanup of oceans and beaches, regularly use recyclable paper, utilize solar energy when possible as well as limiting waste used in our offices around the world.

Children
We believe that children are the hope for our future generations ahead and therefore we always try to remain close to those most fragile in our society, to assist the less fortunate, in order for them to have the same chance in life as the rest of us.
As the old proverb goes "It takes a village to raise a child." Which emphasizes the importance of community involvement in ensuring the well-being and success of all children, especially those who are disadvantaged.
In this regard, we provide periodical donations to various different NGOs which are focused on improving the lives of children, contributing to Save The Children Organization, a Global Movement to save the lives of children through better education, health care, and economic opportunities, as well as providing emergency aid in natural disasters, war, and other conflicts.
We regularly send donations to Heart To Heart (a special fund of Ren De Foundation, a Shanghai-based charity that provides corrective surgery for Chinese children with congenital heart disease, CHD, whose parents are unable to afford surgery), and the Will Foundation.
In regard to poverty alleviation, our firm also supports charitable NGOs such as Save The Children, and Medici Senza Frontiere (MSF), with periodical donations.

Fit Work Up For Charity
Health, wellness, and wellbeing are our goals, so every day all year long we participate in the Fit Work Up For Charity program.
All our employees share a picture of the physical activity they did for the day, for each picture we collect EUR 1. The goal is to collect EUR 4,000, to be donated to the Heart To Heart foundation to pay for a kid’s heart surgery.
In order to reach our goal even faster, we launched the 30*30 Challenge: the employees that join the competition have to share a picture proving at least 1 hour of physical activity or at least 12,000 steps done in one day, for 30 days without interruption. Those that at the end of the month qualify will have contributed EUR 400 to Heart To Heart foundation!
Giving our best we build a better future for our children.

Students Exchange Program
Our firm concluded an important agreement between the Italian Università di Teramo and Shanghai Jiao Tong University for an exchange program that will enable Italian students to come to Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Chinese students to go to Università di Teramo. Two of the students will also receive a scholarship from D’Andrea & Partners Legal Counsel.
Our firm has also collaborated with D'Annunzio University of Chieti in Pescara and the University of Yancheng in Jiangsu Province to promote educational cooperation and person-to-person exchanges between Italy and China by facilitating opportunities for the exchange of students and professors between the two institutions.

Action For Blue
Another project that we are passionate about is how we can improve the cleaning of our seas. For this goal, we have been engaged in the program “Action For Blue”, which is committed to the objective of cleaning of our sea water and the reduction of pollution.
All of our offices have been involved in the cleaning of our beaches and supporting associations which fight the plastic pollution of our seas. As our seas and oceans are the largest ecosystem on Earth, and essential for all life, including humans, pollution of plastic and other forms of human exploitation have put them at risk.
Our seas are also vital in combatting carbon emissions, absorbing approximately a quarter of all the CO2 emitted into the atmosphere by human activities, such as burning fossil fuels and deforestation. For this purpose, every September, on the occasion of the International Coastal Cleanup Day, each member of our group volunteers to clean up the coasts near Shanghai and using all the collected plastic bottles, in cooperation with recycling brands, giving new life to the waste.

University Course Program
Our firm holds the course “Introduction to Italian Civil and Commercial Law”: 16 classes that will give credits and will include also special guests from Italian Institutions and Italian firms’ top managers.
The best students of the course will also earn a scholarship provided by D’Andrea & Partners Legal Counsel and the possibility to have an internship in our firm.
The creation of such courses, scholarships and internships are aimed at fostering a better relationship between Italy and China, driven by the belief that greater awareness of the legal framework of the two countries can lead to increased cultural understanding.

Flora
As the best moment to plant a tree was yesterday, with the second best being today, since the incorporation of our firm, and especially as we are a European driven firm, our aim has always been to reach carbon neutrality as soon as possible.
As a first step, we have been deducting a nominal amount from all of our firm’s employees’ salaries, of which the firm will double in order to pay for the planting of trees to neutralize the carbon impact generated by all our employees.
Additionally, as assessed annually by our HR Department, which calculates the carbon footprint of each employee of the firm in detail according to their daily activities (e.g. our business trips, flights, trains, postal services, car trips over the year), we have formulated strict measures that all employees of the firm should take to help them reduce their carbon footprint at work, with this impact on the environment shall also be compensated via the planting of trees.
We planted over 330 trees in Inner Mongolia to cover the emission of carbon footprint our employees (at Group level) in 2020 and 2021 alone, with the numbers growing year by year.
As we did not inherit the earth from our ancestors, we are merely borrowing it from the next generations to come, so we should do our best to protect it.
