Last November, in Shanghai, IDI Italian Design Icons 2017 – Second Edition, created last year by an idea of D’Andrea & Partners and organized this year by Eastant Communication & Events has been held. Three days’ exhibition of the most iconic products, lectures and networking moments, all characterized by the main theme of “travel-journey”, since next year, 2018, will be the Eu-China Tourism Year. The visitors “flied” to Italy for a weekend, experiencing a journey which contained several steps represented by the 13 brands – internationally known for their style, quality and beauty – which took part in IDI 2017 by showcasing different products, from the automotive sector to the home design sector.
Both scale models – the train by AnsaldoBreda, the helicopter AW189 by Leonardo, the cruise Le Soleal by Fincantieri and the Maserati Gran Turismo – and real models – the Vespa GTS 300, the Moto Guzzi V9 and the F1 Soft Yellow Tyre 2017 Edition by Pirelli – let many visitors dream for all the three days. The protagonists of the area of home design have been the LED installation Trick by iGuzzini; the wall hang boiler Alteas One by Ariston, awarded with the “Good Design”; Poltrona Frau with the 1919 armchair, a vintage icon designed by Renzo Frau, and with the Vanity Fair Limited Edition mini- armchair, created to raise funds for the Farm Children’s Museum of Favara (Italy); Elica, with its Smart Fragrance Diffuser Marie, in four different colors; Meltin’Pot, with many models of its famous jeans which, despite the name, is a typical Italian product, born in the Maritime Republic of Genoa; De Cecco, with an installation mainly dedicated to pasta, in its different famous shapes.
All the three days have been enriched with the presence of online and offline media, a press conference that ended with the greetings of the Consul General of Italy in Shanghai Stefano Beltrame, an exclusive VIP cocktail party to celebrate the first day, and many lectures, held by representatives of some exhibiting companies – Mr. Luca Tarsetti (iGuzzini Trading GM) and Mr. Ermanno Vitali (Chongqing Chuanyi AnsaldoBreda GM)-, as well as by architects, professors, representatives of luxury market – respectively, Mr. Massimo Bagnasco (CMR Project and IADC), Mr. Andrea Baldini (Associate Professor of Aesthetic & Art Theory at the Nanjing University), Mr. Giuliano Quaranta (CEO Founder Shanghai YiFang Fashion Ltd. Consulting in Retail Made to Measure Business and SISU), Ms. Marta Micillo (Micillo Italia GM) – and, furthermore, in occasion of the International Week of Italian Cuisine in the World, by the masterchef Mr. Stefano De Geronimo (Seven Senses Total Dessert Solution and FIC China).
